Leexè
Green landscape with wind turbines under a cloudy sky

Sustainability as a cultural choice.

At Leexè we share the conviction that ethics is central to every economic organisation, long before it became a fashionable topic. For us, sustainability and individual and collective responsibility towards society and the environment are not boxes to tick or a web of procedures. We have codified the virtuous conduct we expect from everyone at the firm, to ensure the utmost integrity in the delivery of legal services, protection of the environment and a concrete social impact.

Environment.

In line with Directive 2008/98/EC and the “polluter pays” principle, we promote the active and responsible management of resources to reduce the environmental footprint of our professional activities:

01

Paperless & digitalisation.

We cut paper and stationery consumption by fully digitising internal and external processes for signing, reviewing and sharing files.

  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
02

Zero single-use plastic.

We do not purchase plastic consumables and have eliminated single-use containers from our offices, favouring exclusively sustainable and reusable alternatives.

  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
03

Waste and WEEE management.

We operate a thorough waste-separation system (paper, plastic, glass, organic and general waste) and have a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
04

Sustainable mobility & smart working.

Remote working is freely available to reduce the environmental impact of daily commuting. For business travel, we encourage the use of public transport or zero-emission vehicles.

  • SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
  • SDG 13: Climate action

Social responsibility.

We place people, equality and a positive impact on the community at the heart of our organisational model:

05

A living code of ethics.

Our values are embodied in our Code of Ethics, with which we all identify and which we ask clients and suppliers to share. The document is reviewed every year to gather proposals for updates from within and outside the firm.

  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
06

Inclusion and gender equality.

We promote an equal and meritocratic working environment, guaranteeing equal opportunities for growth and full fairness. We run annual training sessions on sustainability, accessibility and inclusion strategies.

  • SDG 4: Quality education
  • SDG 5: Gender equality
07

Wellbeing and organisational health.

We encourage shared responsibility for maintaining a healthy, collaborative working environment geared towards the physical and psychological wellbeing of everyone involved.

  • SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing
  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
08

Social impact and the “Leexè, more” project.

We work to remove every kind of economic, physical and cultural barrier. Through the Leexè, more project, both as a firm and through the pro bono commitment of individual partners, we support organisations and initiatives with a high social impact.

  • SDG 1: No poverty
  • SDG 10: Reduced inequalities

Governance & compliance.

As a law firm, our governance combines rigorous respect for professional ethics with the highest international standards of transparency, legality and risk management:

09

Professional ethics and core values.

The independence, loyalty and confidentiality required by the Italian Bar's Code of Professional Conduct form the backbone of our work. The Leexè Code of Ethics extends these principles to every member of the firm and requires clients and suppliers to respect them.

  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
10

Conflict-of-interest prevention & engagement assessment.

Before accepting any mandate we carry out a precise, documented assessment of any potential conflict of interest, ensuring absolute impartiality and professional independence.

  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
11

Professional secrecy, privacy and cybersecurity.

Client confidentiality is protected by professional secrecy and by the exclusive use of the firm's IT infrastructure, designed for the secure storage and sharing of data in full compliance with the GDPR.

  • SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
12

Anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.

We follow the “Technical Rules pursuant to Article 11(2) of Legislative Decree 90/2017” issued by the Italian National Bar Council on internal controls, customer due diligence (KYC) and the assessment of money-laundering and terrorist-financing risk.

  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
13

Fee transparency and reporting.

We ensure maximum clarity in fee arrangements and periodically report on the work carried out, the time spent and the professionals involved, according to the characteristics of each engagement.

  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
14

Oversight body and reporting channels.

The implementation of our ESG procedures is entrusted to an internal committee (comprising at least two partners and one associate) that collects internal and external reports, monitors KPIs and promotes continuous organisational improvement.

  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals
Expertise becomes responsibility when it creates value.
